University of Peradeniya Announces Vacancies for Key Positions

Available Positions and Requirements:

1. Medical Officer
   • Salary Scale: Rs. 55,350-70,330 (plus allowances)
   • Qualifications: Medical Degree from a recognized university with at least three years of experience. Candidates must be registered with the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
2. Farm Manager Grade III
   • Salary Scale: Rs. 50,625-71,355
   • Qualifications: A four-year degree in Agriculture with a minimum of two years of field experience in crop husbandry or animal sciences.
3. Technical Officer (Mechanical) Grade III
   • Salary Scale: Rs. 31,625-37,275
   • Qualifications: Pass in three A/L subjects in the Physical Science stream and an NVQ Level 5 certification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
4. Technical Officer (Chemical) Grade III
   • Salary Scale: Rs. 31,625-37,275
   • Qualifications: Pass in three A/L subjects in the Science stream with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or an NVQ Level 5 certification in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
5. Workshop Superintendent Grade II (Engineering Workshop)
   • Salary Scale: Rs. 37,275-46,185
   • Qualifications: National Diploma in Technology with four years of experience or a National Certificate in Technology with ten years of experience in the relevant field.

General Information:

• The compulsory retirement age is 60 years, and the probation period varies depending on prior experience in the university system.
• Additional allowances include a Cost of Living Allowance (Rs. 17,800), 20% of the basic salary, a Monthly Compensatory Allowance (45% of the basic salary), and a Rs. 5,000 allowance.
