The Department of Textile & Apparel Engineering at the prestigious University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, is offering an array of extension courses tailored to professionals in the garment industry. These courses aim to enhance skills, update knowledge, and improve career prospects for industry practitioners.
Courses Offered and Fees:
- Textile Technology for the Garment Industry – Rs. 25,000
- Merchandising – Rs. 25,000
- Pattern Designing for Apparel (with CAD) – Rs. 28,000
- Work Study – Rs. 20,000
- Quality Management for Apparel Manufacture – Rs. 23,000
- Production Organization & Management – Rs. 20,000
Each course spans 36 hours and is scheduled to commence in February 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Courses 1, 4, and 6: GCE (O/L) with a minimum of one year of industrial experience.
- Course 2: GCE (O/L) and one year of industrial experience in Merchandising, or two years of relevant experience, or completion of the “Textile Technology for the Garment Industry” course.
- Course 3: Participants must be of supervisory grade or higher and actively employed in the textile and apparel industry.
- Course 5: Supervisory-grade professionals with knowledge of quality management and problem-solving in manufacturing processes are preferred.
