The Ministry of Education has announced a special measure to temporarily enroll Grade 5 students from primary schools (schools with classes only from Grades 1 to 5) into Grade 6 classes in provincial schools for the 2025 academic year, starting on January 27, 2025.
The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure uninterrupted educational opportunities for students until the results of the 2024 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination and the determination of cutoff marks are finalized, and schools are systematically assigned.
Instructions for Implementation
Provincial Education Directors are advised to follow these guidelines for implementing the temporary enrollments:
- Temporary Assignments
- Grade 5 students from primary schools must be temporarily enrolled in Grade 6 classes in provincial schools where vacancies exist.
- The receiving schools must not have cutoff marks determined for the 2023 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination.
- Procedural Requirements
- Temporary enrollment must be provided without issuing student transfer documents.
- No fees should be charged from students during this temporary arrangement.
- A separate register must be maintained for these students.
- Restrictions
- Only students from primary schools (Grades 1 to 5) can be temporarily enrolled.
- Students in Grade 5 from other types of schools are not eligible for this temporary enrollment.
- Validity Period
- These temporary enrollments will be automatically canceled once the results and cutoff marks for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination are officially released, and students are formally assigned to schools.
