SLBFE Scholarships for GCE A/L, GCE O/L, Grade 5 Scholarship Students

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) has announced a SLBFE Scholarships program for 2024, aimed at supporting the education of children whose parents are employed abroad. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to recognizing and aiding families contributing to the country’s economy through foreign employment.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships

Children of Sri Lankan migrant workers registered with the SLBFE between 2018 and 2023 are eligible to apply. Specific requirements vary based on the scholarship category, which includes:

1. Grade 5 Scholarships:
   • Applicants must have parents who worked abroad during the specified period.
   • Achieving the qualifying marks in the Grade 5 Scholarship Exam in 2023 is mandatory.
2. Ordinary Level (O/L) Scholarships:
   • Candidates should have completed the O/L exams in 2022 with a minimum of six passes, including Mathematics.
3. Advanced Level (A/L) Scholarships:
   • Applicants should have completed the A/L exams in 2022 and be pursuing a recognized undergraduate degree or a diploma course lasting over two years.
