National Reading Month 2024 – Circulars
In celebration of National Reading Month, schools across Sri Lanka have launched a series of activities aimed at encouraging a love of reading among students. The initiative, themed “Those who conquered the world were those who read,” is designed to foster a reading culture and promote educational development across the nation.
The National Reading Month Steering Committee, which includes school principals, librarians, teachers, and student representatives, has organized a variety of events throughout October. These activities include reading competitions, essay writing contests, book fairs, and workshops focused on effective library usage.
The National Reading Month initiative is expected to make a substantial impact on the reading culture in Sri Lanka and contribute positively to the overall development of the country’s education system. By encouraging students to read more, the initiative aims to build a foundation for lifelong learning and informed citizenship.
