ETF Board Launches “Vishwa Yathra” Financial Assistance for University Students

The Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF) Board has announced the introduction of the “Vishwa Yathra” Financial Assistance Program under the “Nipunatha Saviya” Benefit Scheme. This initiative provides a Rs. 25,000 grant to children of active ETF members who have successfully passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 2023 (2024) and secured admission to a university.

Eligibility Requirements: To qualify for this grant, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Students must have sat for the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in 2023 and been accepted into a university.
  2. Candidates must be under 23 years of age and can include both school and external candidates.
  3. Parents/guardians should have been active ETF members at the time of the examination (February 2023) and must have continuously contributed to the ETF from February 2023 to January 2024.
  4. For self-employed members, contributions must have been made for 36 months preceding the exam (February 2019 to January 2024).
  5. If both parents are ETF members, only one should submit the application.
  6. The grant is not available to students who have already received financial support for vocational training.
