The University of Peradeniya is proud to announce the commencement of a cutting-edge Diploma in Computing and Electronics, starting in October 2024. This one-year diploma program, offered by the Faculty of Science in collaboration with the Center for Distance and Continuing Education (CDCE), is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in today’s technology-driven world.
The diploma opens doors to a wide range of career opportunities in the fields of computing and electronics, including roles as computer technicians, network administrators, systems analysts, and electronics technicians. Graduates can further pursue careers in areas such as IT support, software testing, computer programming, embedded systems development, cybersecurity analysis, and more.
Key Features of the Program:
- Mode of Delivery: Primarily online, including self-instructional material, online tutoring sessions, and limited face-to-face interactions for lab sessions, practical classes, and examinations.
- Duration: One year.
- Investment: 120,000 LKR (with payment options available).
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
- G.C.E. (A/L) in Science or Technology stream.
- NVQF level 4 completion.
- A foundation course in Computing and Electronics equivalent to SLQF level 2.
- Four years of work experience in the relevant field.
Top 5% Opportunity: The top 5% of students in the program will be eligible for a 3-month internship, offering hands-on experience in the industry.
