The Faculty of Applied Sciences at South Eastern University of Sri Lanka has announced its call for applications for the Diploma in Computer Technology (DCT) program, set to commence in 2025. This diploma, aligned with NVQF Level 5 standards, offers a one-year part-time program designed to provide a strong foundation in computer technology, with a focus on both practical and theoretical knowledge.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are required to meet one of the following entry criteria:
- Option 1: A minimum of three ordinary passes (S grade) in the G.C.E (A/L) examination or 30 credits after SLQL2, or the completion of NVQ Level 4. Additionally, candidates should have a simple pass in English at the G.C.E (O/L) level.
- Option 2: A minimum of six ordinary (S grade) passes in the G.C.E (O/L) examination, including a simple pass in English. Candidates must also have at least two years of relevant work experience from a Senate-recognized institute.
Selection Process and Application
Prospective students will be selected based on an admission test and an interview. The program will be conducted in English, and classes will take place on weekends. An application fee of Rs. 500 must be deposited at People’s Bank, and applications, along with required documents, must be submitted to the Registrar, South Eastern University, by November 19, 2024.
