| Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Quality Management -Wayamba University | The Faculty of Livestock, Fisheries & Nutrition at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka is now accepting applications for the 5th intake (2025-2027) of the Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Quality Management (External). This degree program, offered in partnership with the Sri Lanka Standards Institute (SLSI), Colombo, is specifically designed for professionals working in the food industry or those involved in food-related businesses.

Admission Requirements

Candidates applying for the program must fulfill one of the following criteria:

1. GCE A/L (Science or Technology stream) with at least two years of post-qualification experience in the food industry.
2. Holders of a Higher National Diploma in Food Technology (HNDFT).
3. Those with a Diploma in Food Quality Management from the Sri Lanka Standard Institute (SLSI).
4. Individuals with a Higher Diploma or Diploma in Public Health Inspection, offered by the Ministry of Health (Sri Lanka).
5. Any other qualification deemed acceptable by the Board of Study and Senate of Wayamba University.

Selection Process

Eligible candidates will undergo an aptitude test to assess their basic knowledge of food science and technology, with a minimum requirement of 40% to pass. Qualified applicants will then be called for an interview, and only those who pass will be admitted to the program.

Program Details

• Duration: 3 academic years (2025-2027)
• Medium of Instruction: English, with Open Distance Learning (ODL) methods.
• Course Fee: Rs. 530,000 for the entire program (with Rs. 80,000 to be paid during registration, and the remaining amount in 5 installments).
• Commencement: January 2025
