The Task Force to Combat the Use of Poisonous and Dangerous Drugs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Science & Technology, Ministry of Health, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, Colombo Plan, and Dialog Axiata PLC, has announced an All Island Art and Animation Video Competition 2024. The competition is aimed at school children and youth and focuses on the theme: “Empowering Children and Youth for a Bright Future Without Drugs.”
Competition Categories:
- Art Competition:
- Category I: Grades 6 to 8
- Category II: Grades 9 to 11
- Animation Video Competition:
- Category I: Grades 10 to 13
- Category II: Ages 19 to 30 years
Prizes for Winners:
Art Competition (Category I & II):
- 1st Place: Rs. 50,000 (one winner from each category)
- 2nd Place: Rs. 35,000 (one winner from each category)
- 3rd Place: Rs. 20,000 (one winner from each category)
Animation Video Competition (Category I & II):
- 1st Place: Rs. 200,000 (one winner from each category)
- 2nd Place: Rs. 150,000 (one winner from each category)
- 3rd Place: Rs. 100,000 (one winner from each category)
Additionally, 20 winners (10 from each art competition category) and 10 winners (5 from each animation category) will receive certificates of merit. For Category I winners, 50% of the cash prize will be awarded to their school. Category II winners will receive mobile phones equivalent in value to the prize money.
