Applications for Advanced Certificate in Environmental Law (ACEL) 2024 – University of Colombo | The University of Colombo’s Faculty of Law, Department of Public and International Law, has announced the commencement of applications for the Advanced Certificate in Environmental Law (ACEL) for 2024. This program is designed to provide advanced knowledge in environmental law to qualified candidates and will be conducted online in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Hold a minimum of five credit passes in the GCE (O/L) examination or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have completed National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 or any academic qualification equivalent to the GCE O/L exam, as recognized by the University’s Faculty Board and Senate.
  • Successfully completed a relevant Certificate, Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Advanced Certificate from the University of Colombo or another recognized university.

Note: Prior knowledge of law is not mandatory for this program.

Course Details

  • Course Fee: Rs. 50,000 (payable in two installments)
  • Duration: 6 months (weekend classes)
  • Commencement: November 2024

Application Process

Application forms are available for download at http://law.cmb.ac.lk. Completed applications, along with a scanned bank payment slip, should be submitted via email to [email protected] or by registered post to the Coordinator, Advanced Certificate in Environmental Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, on or before 30th September 2024.

An application fee of Rs. 1,000 must be deposited using code 310016400001 at any People’s Bank branch, with the payment slip enclosed with the application.
