The Ministry of Education has announced a reduction in the number of school days for 2025, lowering the total from 210 days to 181 days. The decision comes in response to the large number of public holidays and delays in commencing the first school term.
Revised Schedule for 2024 and 2025 Academic Years
To complete the third term of the 2024 academic year, schools will operate for three weeks from January 2 to January 24, 2025. The 2025 academic year will officially commence on January 27.
The revision is partly due to the significant number of public holidays in 2025. Out of the 26 public holidays scheduled for the year, only four fall on weekends, while the remaining occur on weekdays, limiting the available days for school operations..
