Ministry of Education Announces Short Film Competition on Right to Information Act | The Ministry of Education has launched a short film competition aimed at raising awareness among school students about the Right to Information (RTI) Act No.12 of 2016. The competition is being held in conjunction with the International Day for Universal Access to Information 2024.
Competition Guidelines
- Eligibility: The competition is open to school students, who must submit a film of 4-10 minutes in length, filmed in a live format (not animated), and shot using cameras or mobile phones with a minimum resolution of 720 pixels.
- Theme: The films must focus on the benefits of the Right to Information Act.
- Submission: Students are required to complete the application form by September 18, 2024, with the final film submissions due by September 23, 2024.
- Subtitles: All films must include English subtitles.
- Exclusions: Defamatory, racist, or offensive content will be disqualified immediately.
Participants are required to submit additional materials along with the film, including motionless captures, synopsis, and information on the direction and production.
Categories and Prizes
Films must be narrative-driven and creative, avoiding promotional content. Prizes and certificates will be awarded to winners during the International Day for Universal Access to Information event on October 10, 2024.
The competition includes two workshops for participants to help guide them on film techniques and understanding the RTI Act.
