Public Service Commission Issues New Guidelines for Unreported Absences

Public Service Commission Issues New Guidelines for Unreported Absences | The Public Service Commission has announced that if a government official is absent from work for more than five days without prior notice, a resignation notice must be issued within the first five days following the unreported absence.

This decision was made in response to instances where issuing resignation notices for unreported absences has taken over a year in some cases. The Commission emphasized the need for timely action to ensure smooth administrative processes.

A circular has been sent to all ministry secretaries and heads of departments, informing them of this new directive to be implemented across the public service sector.
